The LON-CAPA Course Management System (CMS) features a powerful and flexible assessment engine which can be used to deliver individualized homework, quizzes and exams, either online: as HTML (or as PDF fillable forms), or offline, as PDFs for printing, for use with bubblesheets (which can be scanned by the MSU Scoring Office, and then uploaded into LON-CAPA for grading.  For the online (HTML) setting a student can launch access to a "deep linked" online assessment in LON-CAPA from a course in another learning systems, such as D2L, with automatic pass-back of grades from LON-CAPA to the gradebook in the other system.  Alternatively, LON-CAPA can itself be adopted as the primary CMS for a course.

Creation of assessment items using some of the 46 available templates will be demonstrated.  Set-up of a deep linked LON-CAPA assessment for access from within a D2L course will also be demonstrated.  Each participant will be able to experiment with creating their own assessment items in an example course.
