Join the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary this spring for online Birds and Coffee chats
Augusta, Mich. — Share your latest bird sightings and learn more about some of the bird species commonly spotted at this time of year in southwest Michigan during monthly Birds and Coffee chats, offered by the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary.

Description:
Grab your morning beverage and join us to learn more about five bird species! In each session we’ll highlight birds that you can find in our SW Michigan backyards, woods, and waters this time of year.
This month for birds and coffee chat we will be joined by Elliot Nelson, Michigan Sea Grant Educator. He will be focusing on Gulls that have been spotted in Michigan or call MI home.
species of focus:
· Herring (these are the most common year-round residents)
· Ring-billed (these are the most commonyear-round residents)
· Bonapart’s Gull (migrant)
· Great Black Backed Gull (winter resident, small number of breeders)
· Glaucous Gull (winter Resident)
Birds and Coffee chats are free and open to the public, but registration is required to access information on how to join the events.
About the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary
The W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary’s mission is to conserve native habitat for migratory and resident birds and to promote environmental awareness through research, education and outreach. Since 1928, the Sanctuary has served as a practical training school for animal care and land management, and remains an innovator in wildlife conservation efforts.
