Michigan State University’s Kellogg Biological Station’s K-12 Partnership is proud to present a 4-part series of online workshops on Climate Science, designed to build confidence in teaching climate science and climate change. 

For: Middle and High School teachers

What: 4 online workshops on Climate Science to build knowledge and teaching methods 

Where: online via zoom

When: 4-5pm EST, 1 SCECH per workshop

Jan. 28: Climate Science Basics

Teachers will gain an understanding of climate science basics including what is climate science, how do we study climate science and why do we study climate science? Through participation in an interactive presentation by Lindsey Kemmerling.  Teachers will analyse evidence about climate science and evaluate hypotheses in activities and small group discussions led by Dr. Joelyn de Lima and Kara Haas.

Lindsey Kemmerling, Ecologist, PhD student studying biodiversity in agricultural systems in the Haddad Lab at MSU/KBS and 2019-20 Science Education and Outreach Fellow at Kellogg Biological Station

Kara Haas, Kellogg Biological Station’s Science Education and Outreach Coordinator; science education doctoral student and coordinator on the Teaching Science Outdoors - Urban Partnerships project at MSU.
