Date of Session: June 5, Presenters: Linda Miles, Joshua Newman, Chandlee Marcyk-Taylor, Julie Taylor (she/her) Description: During this informative session members of the MSU Libraries’ OER Team will highlight some amazing textbooks from MSU faculty before launching into a panel discussion about the teamwork that goes into providing multifaceted support for such projects–from the spark of an idea through peer review, publication, and classroom implementation. Key components include: the OER Advisory Committee members, who select awardees, adjudicate peer review, and advise on new initiatives; the core production team members, who work 1-on-1 with faculty authors and provide technology, editorial, accessibility, and design support; and the OER Librarian who manages the project and develops key relationships across campus and beyond. Other units within the MSU Libraries contribute as well, including library administration, the Accessibility and Web/UX teams, and the scholarly press and publishing groups. Come learn how all the nuts and bolts come together.
