The year 1543 saw the publication of the first modern work of anatomy, "De Humani Corporis Fabrica" -- or in English, "On the Fabric of the Human Body." The author was Andreas Vesalius, a professor of anatomy at the University of Padua. MSU's Murray-Hong Special Collections owns a copy of the 1555 edition of the Fabrica. In this short video, librarian Ruth Ann Jones shares several of the amazing, highly detailed illustrations.
