Deborah Kempe's presentation given on June 2, 2014, shares the repercussions of not prioritizing digital preservation and compares 404 messages to a black hole. Efforts by the NYARC Consortium project, involving the Frick Art Reference Library, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art, to develop solutions for better preserving born digital materials are discussed. The presenter talks about some initial projects, including the preservation of auction house websites and applying for an Andrew W. Mellon grant.
