Cesarean sections - one of the most common surgeries in the world - are currently being re-evaluated. Though life-saving and crucial in some cases, many health experts believe a large portion are unnecessary and cause more harm than good. This, in conjunction with patients who are unaware of the true impact of choosing a Cesarean section, greatly affects mothers, babies, and the health system. Currently, many countries including the United States are attempting to change this pattern. This seminar will examine multiple modes of deliveries, the relevant anatomy, and the ways in which organizations are attempting to decrease number of Cesarean sections.
