Our telemedicine clinics at homeless shelters in the Lansing area have been called "one of the best things to come out of COVID" (PR, 2).
With this initial positivie feedback, should telemedicine be prioritized by street medicine teams during a pandemic and beyond?
Our project aims to determine if telemedicine is a viable solution to the inadequate healthcare access for individuals experiencing homelessness in the greater Lansing area, especially during a global pandemic, and to what extent providers, shelter staff, and medical students are satisfied with their experiences on these telemedicine visits.
These telemedicine visits were conducted by Spartan Street Medicine, a CHM/COM student organization that provides healthcare for people experiencing homelessness in the Lansing area.
