CATA is launching a new ride matching software in early January which will give MSU employees the capability to find fellow employees/students to form a carpool, vanpool, or bike together to campus. When searching for alternative travel modes, users will see the cost, time, and mileage of each mode.
Participants will also hear experiences from commuters: Jen Bruen has been a Michivan driver/coordinator for four years and has been commuting from Novi to Lansing since 2011; Layne Cameron will talk about his 12-mile, one-way bicycle commute from Williamston to campus. (Full disclosure, though, now that it’s cold and dark, he commutes from a free parking lot just off campus. Still, he’s riding every day.)
