The most traditional ecological concepts tend to be centered around environments untouched by humans. Yet, in this current era known as the Anthropocene, human influence is virtually everywhere, affecting most species. My work challenges the realism of the current ecological niche concept. I am working to link indicators of human influence to components of the niche to define a new niche for the Anthropocene.
