This enrichment session led by Peggy Griesinger will provide an overview of audiovisual and preservation metadata standards and their practical application in cultural heritage institutions. Attendees will receive a basic introduction to the PREMIS standard as well as a number of audiovisual metadata standards. Through a case study of the presenter’s NDSR-NY project at the Museum of Modern Art, attendees will learn methods for: identifying metadata requirements for a project, designing local metadata implementations based on community standards, and creating sustainable workflows for metadata production and management.
