Birds and Coffee Chat: Bird Center of Michigan

Grab your morning beverage and join us to learn more about five bird species in Michigan! Each session will highlight birds that you can find in our backyards, woods, and waters throughout southwestern Michigan during this time of year.

Marissa Jardine from the Bird Center of Michigan will discuss the following topics:

1. Saving songbirds.
2. Common causes of bird intakes at the center and how we can help prevent them, including window collisions.
3. How the center cares for patients affected by collisions and how the public can help prevent these incidents, as well as those involving birds caught by cats.
4. How the center cares for birds caught by other animals and how the public can help reduce interactions between wild birds and pets.

There is no fee for this online program but to receive a secure link to the zoom meeting.  Your hosts are educators: Lisa Duke and Misty Klotz from Kellogg Biological Station and Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. Zoom in and participate by sharing your recent bird sightings and asking questions!
