CSTAT 2025 Summer Semester - Introduction to Meta-Analysis

Meta-analysis has become a widely used method for synthesizing results from multiple studies, providing a comprehensive understanding of research questions across disciplines. This seminar offers an accessible introduction to meta-analysis, covering essential concepts such as effect size calculation, fixed-effect versus random-effects models, heterogeneity assessment, and common pitfalls. We will also explore key visualization tools, including forest and funnel plots. The session features a hands-on tutorial in R, guiding participants step by step through the process of conducting a meta-analysis.
