An accessible and inclusive workshop to teach early-career researchers how to learn R.

Do you need R for your research but are not sure where to start? Have you tried learning R but struggled to learn on your own? This workshop is for you!​

You are invited to participate in a workshop designed to help graduate students and post-doctoral researchers learn how to learn R. This workshop will include a 60-minute seminar, access to a curated set of resources for learning R, and a 1-hour working session (Part 2) to engage with the resources along with other R learners to complete data-driven tasks (potentially related to your own research!)  Your participation will also connect you to a campus-wide network of early-career researchers using the included resources to learn R.  ​

In this seminar you will learn:​

• The capabilities and utility of R in your research​
• The basics of using R and RStudio​
• How to load, manipulate, summarize, and visualize your data​
• Exposure to commonly used R packages such as tidyr, dplyr, and ggplot2​
• How to explore and learn to use new functions and packages in R​
• Recommendations for trouble-shooting errors​
• Exposure to a collection of resources designed to help you learn R​
