PSL 475L Honors Option - Candy Spines

After the activity, students should be able to list the four components of the spinal cord, spinal nerves, vertebral bodies, and intervertebral discs. Additionally, they will be able to explain the functions of these 4 components. They should also be able to identify the name of the part of the vertebral bone that you can feel as you feel down your back. They will develop a simple understanding of the differences between the Central and Peripheral Nervous Systems. Finally, they will be able to construct a model of a spine using simple materials.
