Understanding and Applying New Federal Outdoor Recreation Economic Data
in Michigan: New Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) reporting, through
their Outdoor Recreation Satellite Account first launched in 2019 and
updated in November 2020, shows that the outdoor recreation sector
contributes $10.1 billion to Michigan’s economy each year. Hosted by MSU
Extension, we invite you to join us and the Michigan Outdoor Industry
Office, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, and the Outdoor
Recreation Roundtable for a webinar-based presentation and conversation
with BEA Economist, Mr. Stas Rzeznik. The webinar is intended as an
opportunity for state and local partners to better understand the data,
underlying methodology, and ask technical questions. Mr. Rzeznik is with
the Bureau's Regional Input/Output Modeling System Group and will help
participants to explore how the data relates to and can inform
Michigan’s state and local economics, labor data, and development
strategies.
