A holistic proactive lifestyle modifying approach to address improve and prevent oral health disease utilizing a nutrition and behavioral intervention in Flint Michigan, a food swamp. This was accomplished by educating patients on the relationship between diet and oral health, improving health literacy, informing patients on community healthy eating resources, informing on proper oral hygiene routines, and increasing awareness on the dangers associated with living in a food swamp.
