This talk will provide a broad overview of regional trends in forest carbon within the eastern region of the US. The talk will provide an introduction to trends in forests in terms of forest cover, ownership, and current and past policies of management including descriptions of forest cover types and their regional significance along with drivers of forest change and how they alter forest structure and function over time. Lastly, the talk will briefly cover regional trends in forest markets and economics and how they directly relate to forest carbon.
