Extra Credit and Bonus Items in D2L

Award extra credit in the D2L gradebook. There are two ways to award extra credit to students in D2L: add additional points beyond the maximum to an existing activity or create a separate Bonus item in the gradebook where all the points are extra credit. You will need to check Can Exceed on certain grade items and decide where to place the bonus items for the correct calculation of the final grade when using extra credit.

Tip: To make a Bonus item in a weighted gradebook act like extra credit points, weight the item relative to the total points. For example, if a Bonus item is worth 10 points and there are 500 points in the category (not including bonus points), then weight the item at 10/500 = 0.02 or 2%.
